Manufacturer Coupon Family Code Structure
UCS groceryCoupon-clearing plumbing — a manufacturer telling its clearing agent which product codes redeem which coupon family.
The 877 lets a manufacturer (or its agent) publish coupon family code structures: which coupon family code covers which product identification codes, so a coupon-clearing house or retailer's system knows what a scanned coupon is actually good for. It's promotions back-office, not order-to-cash — most beverage suppliers never send or receive one directly; it shows up on grocery-industry EDI checklists because retailer 'full profile' requirements bundle it in with 875/880, not because a small supplier will be asked to build to it.
Grocery-industry coupon/promotions transaction set — peripheral to core order-to-cash (850/855/856/810) unless you run trade-promotion programs directly.
If a retailer's EDI packet lists 877 as 'required,' ask whether that's really aimed at you or at their coupon-clearing vendor — it's rarely a supplier-side build.
